We are pleased to introduce all of you to our Intellectual Entrepreneur Series. We will be publishing a profile of such intellectual entrepreneurs who are working on the triple-bottom-line concept. The triple bottom line means they are not only working for themselves but for peoples and the planet too. Means thought process for the wellbeing of self, peoples around you and nature.
In our earlier articles, we have explained the 4 types of human personality i.e. physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual. These 4 personalities have different traits and their effects on our life. Our intellectual entrepreneurs are selected after qualifying on 4 parameters. These entrepreneurs not only enjoy their life with full potential but also inspire others to invest their time in the creative field. So that everyone can prosper and offer a valuable contribution to society. In this way, our entrepreneurs are real path makers for society.
Let us introduce our first intellectual entrepreneur Mr Pankaj Arora and Mrs Sangeeta Arora. Presently living in a popular colony of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh they have created a niche in bringing nature in own home. Mr Arora who is around 60 years old and Mrs Arora who is 54, have deep love and compassion towards nature. In their small plot, they have created an organic kitchen garden and a Hydroponic system which they lovingly call "The Little Green Farm". They grow multiple vegetables like carrot, spinach, mustard, coriander, tomato, radish, beetroot, cauliflower, ladyfinger, cowpea (lobia beans), lettuce etc in the kitchen garden using organic fertiliser only. Only seasoned cow dung manure and compost is used. Compost is made using all vegetable waste like peels, stems, cuttings etc and the fallen leaves from "The Little Green Farm" thereby eliminating all wet waste from the kitchen to reduce the waste load on the environment. In the Hydroponic system, they grow greens and herbs like Spinach, Swiss Chard, Mustard, Lettuce, Kale, Cherry tomato, Bok Choy, Basil, Mint, Coriander, Tulsi etc. They have grown ornamental plants also in the hydroponic system.
In flowering options, they have grown rose, marigold, calendula, cineraria, verbena, petunia, phlox, jasmine, stock, hibiscus, dahlia, kalanchoe, ice plant, chrysanthemum etc. In fruits, they have grown mango, guava, papaya, lemon and tangerine (hazara orange). Numerous ornamental plants like palms, dieffenbachia, fern, monstera, different types of snake plant, jade plant, Ashok plant, golden duranta, ficus, etc are also grown. They have medicinal plants too like aloe vera, kadi Patta and Tulsi. In a way, we can say that they are really “Atmanirbhar” for homegrown organic vegetables.
They have constructed a covered hydroponic system in their small plot. A covered system keeps plants safe from pests. The hydroponic produce is thus pesticide-free. Inside the covered system, different variety of green vegetables are grown. The hydroponic system uses pipes with multiple holes to house the net pots using the NFT technology. Pure water with enriching nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and various micronutrients is circulated using a pump. No soil is used thus avoiding soil-based pests also. The system is automated.

This hydroponic system is specially designed to save space and gives a beautiful option to families who are living in flats or have very little space for living with nature.
