Once
upon a time there was an Island between Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. It was
ruled by a person names “Simple”. He was head of the Island, although he
treated himself as caretaker. He had 4 sons, all were well settled. One son was
looking after security of the Island. 2nd one was looking after
spiritual outlook and education. 3rd one was after requirement of
all necessities for life and last one took care the agricultural activities.
All young men were very hard working and supportive to each other. As a result,
they prospered in all fields. They got married and were blessed by sons and
daughters too. Their prosperity and fame spread across the world. Everybody
recognized the peace and prosperity of the Island.
This
Island was self dependent in all respect. They grew variety of food grains,
fruits, vegetables and milk product. As a result, population of the Island was
very strong and physic. They had good distribution system and markets so they were
able to provide all necessary goods to their public. Peoples were well
educated. There were Gurukuls (Boarding schools) and universities having rich
libraries. Classes of math, science, geography, Vedanta, literature and various
others subjects were organised. They had strong defense system and strong army
comprising of military and naval forces. So non of nearing country had courage
to attack on this Iceland.
There
was love and harmony amongst the peoples. Due to excellent education system they
were spiritually strong. Their scholars wrote multiple books on different
subjects. They were supportive to each other, so when anyone felt hardship he
was supported by others. They did excellent research in medical science too.
There was no feeling of upper and lower class on the basis of their business or
profession. All were treated equally.
Some
of the neighboring countries were jealous with prosperity of this Island. They
attacked in some portion and looted but could not defeat the Island. Then they
decided to misguide their peoples silently. Accordingly, they started
mistrusting each other. They were informed that their goods are of inferior
quality so they should import goods or services from another country. By this
way entire production and distribution system became dependent upon other
countries. Due to this migration local industries were destroyed. Same way
peoples started hating each other and they developed inferiority complex about
each other.
In
meantime there was a flood and entire Island was isolated from the rest of the
world. Since they were dependent on others so they suffered a lot. Then they
realized the meaning of self dependence. They started understanding the
importance of indigenous industries and local talent since no one was there to
help other than their own peoples.
Friends
whether our today;s position is different? In want of better quality goods, we
have destroyed our local industries. We are very badly dependent on China for
our many essential needs. Which is supplying many troubles to the world and
will continue to do so. So let’s support each other, let’s appreciate each
other. In case of any emergency Chinese will not come to help us. So be Indian
and commit yourself to utilize your knowledge and skill for the development of
our country. Come above self interest, be selfless and love for the country. I
would like to conclude my words with this beautiful poem.
